Quick and easy to use.
I use a lot of 38 series compact hinges and had always measured and drilled the center instead of using a jig as they were too expensive. I spotted this little jig at woodcraft and bought two. I used my door assembly jig (MDF with two scrap pieces glued at right angles)and clamped a square to it to reference the bottom of the woodcraft jig then another scrap piece between the top of the first jig and the bottom of the second jig so the center line matched the hinges I had already installed on the door frames. I was able to mark,bore and hang 18 doors about 4 hours. Simple is usually best and in this case it is a simple effective jig for compact hinges.

Great Bit - Poor Description
The jig itself works as described, and the bit cuts cleanly. HOWEVER, the description should note the distance from the door edge to the closest edge of the hinge cup. I am using Blum Compact 33 hinges, and this jig places the hinge cup too far in, resulting in the edge of the door rubbing the face frame when opening and closing the door. Adding this to the description would, In my opinion, save others from finding this out too late.

Excellent value
Needed edge dressing before use, but overall an excellent tool for repair work. I used it to seat new hinges in some older cherry cabinet doors, and it was just great for this light work. At the price, a great value.

Only Compact Hinges
This template only works with compact european hinges. If you have a hinge with an arm you are going to need to adjust the boring distance (distance from the edge of the door to the edge of the whole) to get the right overlay. This template will not let you adjust the boring distance.

INACCURATE!!!!!!!!!
WARNING - Thsi jig does NOT put the large hole where it should be! Compare the paper templates with most hinges and they do not line up. To fix it either add several layers of tape to inside of jig or just mark the center point with the paper templates that come with hinges. If you follow this guide your door will hit the face frame on the cabinet. Be careful! Both the Woodcraft store and online support acknowledged this to me as a known problem. Buy the grey one that you can adjust with screws.

Not Pro grade, but perfect for DIY
Needed to move 3 existing hinges to opposite side of door. Didn't want to spend a lot of money, yet needed fairly accurate tool. This one was perfect for my purpose. Just needed to be extra careful to hold drill square to door surface.
