Well Made Cutting Gauge
I have owned this cutting gauge for over ten years. It is well made, has a solid feel in the hand, and reliably does its job. I prefer a cutting gauge to a pin gauge, and I have both. To sharpen the cutter, tap out the brass wedge which hold the cutter in place. Lap the back of the cutter on a diamond plate or sharpening stone. Use a pair of locking pliers with some padding on the jaws to hold the cutter to sharpen the bevel. This tool should last a lifetime.
