At Last The Right Insert for a Great Saw

Finally, someone has the insert we have all longed for!! Why am I not surprised its Leecraft through Woodcraft that made it happen. I, like many other owners of the Craftsman #21833, have contemplated making my own insert but was also concerned about safety. I'm glad now I don't need to try. Rite out of the package I could tell it was the answer. I was a bit skeptical of the tension screw but it works fine, snug and secure. Only problem I had was the instructions say to clamp a piece of wood over the insert when you bring the blade up through it the first time. Since my saw is fitted with a custom outfeed table its not possible to clamp something down over the insert. I clamped the piece of wood to my fence and locked it down over the insert so the blade came through about 1/2" from the fence face and that worked great. I plan to purchase a couple more inserts for dado work and to keep one on as my everyday insert.

      zero clearance insert

This insert if perfect. I've been searching for one ever since I bought my Craftsman table saw 4 years ago. Tried making one myself but could never get the fit and safety just right and felt uncomfortable using it. No worries now. If you own the craftsman model, BUY IT.

      Perfect!!!

This is a "Real" zero clearance insert! It fit perfectly and I do not see any way that it could be improved upon. If you need one for your hybred Craftsman, this is it!
