Utilizing a unique production process backed by 40 years of experience and top-grade materials, Pride has created water stones that are long lasting, fast cutting, leave a mirror finish and – “gasp” – are flat within .007 of an inch right out of the box. Stones should be soaked approximately 15 to 20 minutes prior to use or till they quit breathing or stop bubbling.
The 1000-grit side of this stone is for small nick removal, refining a bevel and for making quick work of micro bevels. The 6000-grit level is where sharpening becomes honing. Lots of folk stop at 6000 grit, while some continue on up the grit scale to 8000 grit and above. This 6000-grit side is great for finishing off a micro bevel or polishing the full bevel in preparation for going to a higher grit. Stone measures approximately 8" x 2-3/4" x 7/8".
Pride Abrasive was founded by Matt and Dorothy Hazlett, who began manufacturing abrasive stones in Bristol, Wisconsin, in 1978. Pride’s focus has been to produce the highest quality products at the quickest possible lead times at extremely competitive pricing with a customized approach to each customer. Pride has combined its nearly 40 years of knowledge with a unique water stone production process to create a one-of-a-kind product for industries such as cutlery and woodworking.
