Bit more work than it is worth

Just bought and tried to use the bit. There was no included Allen key to adjust so had to try my tools. Turns out it is a 2.5mm key. Once I released both sides it took a hammer to drive the bit to adjust. Once I set the bit length I tried the bit. After 4 holes the bit slipped up when I raised it out of the hole. It is now stuck, I'm hot, and the project is on hold. No instruction were included either with the bit or online. Instructions don't need to be complicated, but including the Allen key size would have saved time going through first the standard then metric keys I own. I liked that it came with a brad point, but after that is is proving a most frustrating tool.
