Cheap spring mechanism
I purchased this based on the FWW video on building a bench. I wish I would have read the product reviews first. Maybe I just got a bad vise, but I am tired of wasting my time trying to get the vise to work. The spring that allows you to go into rapid action is not strong enough to get out of rapid action. I have already taken it apart once and will try one more time before I return. Even if that does fix it, overtime I feel like I will just have to continue taking it apart and bending the metal tab (spring mechanism) to get it to work correctly. Don't waste your time with this vise.

Item Should Not Be Sold By Woodcraft
I purchased the Groz Vise based on an online recommendation. The Rapid Action Feature works well, but that's it for positive features. The unit is designed poorly. The vise jaws are not perfectly perpendicular to the mounting plate. This required significant shimming to get the jaws mount flush with the table top. The toe in is too excessive. When loads are fully clamped, the jaws do not become parallel. The guide rails are at different elevations. This makes mounting wood blocks on the vise quite a job. All in all I am very disappointed. Wish it worked out for me
I got this vise based on a recommendation from a FWW video. This vise failed within a few weeks (and maybe 2 actual clampings). The quick release mechanism stopped gripping and would only catch and start to close the vise 1 out of 10 times. I tried everything including taking the vise apart completely, cleaning it, inspecting each part, and putting it back together. The wear and grinding on some of the parts led me to believe this was probably someone else's return. I ended up returning it for store credit and getting a heavy-duty QR vise from another store.

Good Bang for your Buck
I bought this for my first wood working bench I built. Have to say I love the rapid action; half-turn to the left and you can slide it open/closed in a snap. I have an all purpose bench top vise on another table without the rapid action and now wish it did. Makes removing jobs so much quicker. I added hardwood inserts w/benchdog hole. Super nice addition to my table.Price was right [...].
