    Does what they claim.....

Power Twist claim that their v belt reduces vibration and after rebuilding my second hand saw bench including replacing all bearings this was the last hope to get rid of vibration. Power Twist solved the problem...............really thrilled.

can't see that this product did anything

I bought this at my local Woodcraft store because of the rave reviews. After a struggle to get it on my 20 year old Delta 14 inch bandsaw, I can see no difference of any kind. If anything it might vibrate just a tiny fraction more based on my nickel balance test. I could balance a nickel before with the original belt. I took it off and am going back to the original 20 year old belt. I will probably return the Power Twist belt.

Nice Belt, but it won't hold my pants up

This belt has a nice satisfying whir to it and a complete lack of vibration. Very nice. I wish there was a step-by-step guide for opening the belt to add or remove links, specifically which order you engage and disengage the two tabs you have to remove and reinstall

    Reduced Both Vibration and Noise

Replaced an 80 inch belt on a Rockwell 12 inch gap bed wood lathe with this and it reduced the vibration so well that I could balance a nickle on the lathe bed while it was running. I also replaced the belt on a Craftsman 12 inch bandsaw and it reduced the amount of vibration in that machine as well. The operating noise level on both of these machines was greatly reduced making it nice to be able to hear while working on the machine. I am very satisfied with this product and I would recommend it to anyone having vibration/noise problems with the machines in their shop.

    Best ever

Didn't have to calculate belt size via old formula and this belt allows for some imperfections in pulley alignment. I have built several large tools and found this belt system amazingly simple and reliable although somewhat pricey !

    Nothing short of amazing!

This product is truly astounding. I installed one on my 1960 Craftsman "100" table saw and it took nearly all of the vibrations out of it. Before this belt change my saw couldn't pass the Nickle test, now it passes even the penny test with flying colors. The links were easy to remove and reconnect, I was up and running in 5 minutes.

Make sure your machine has a V-belt!

I've given the belt a good rating because it does what it says it does. But after receiving it I found that my Grizzly band saw had a flat, grooved belt. The link belt has a flat side, which worked very well for a short time until the belt slipped off the pulleys. I lost some $$$ on this purchase. Let's call it an experiment. Make certain your machine has a V-belt before ordering and I think you will be happy.

Too hard to reinsert a link.

Just a shade too wide for my Craftsman drill press. Dosen't show which side of the belt goes against the pulleys. Extremely hard to reinsert a link once removed.

    Outstanding Product

Installed this on my Delta contractor saw to replace the original v-belt. Balanced a dime on edge through start-up and shut-down. The cost at my local store was just $1.00 more than a comparable belt from a local industrial power transmission supplier that is twice as far away. Well worth the money. Wish I had done it years ago. The jointer will be next.

Going to install on all my machines

I installed the Link Belt on my 10" Table saw and from the moment I turned it on I could tell the difference. The motor didn't jump as it did with the traditional type belt plus it really does run much advertised. Great product I would definitely recommend the Link Belt to anyone who wants their machines to run quiter and smoother.

Probably the one single thing you can do for any belt driven tools to run smoother and better. I put this on an old craftsman table saw and it runs quite and smoother. Do yourself a favor and buy this. Don't hesitate. It really works! Plus its adjustable, link by link. Who ever heard of an adjustable fan belt? This is one.

    Doesn't work with Porter-Cable PCB270TS

I'm sure this is a great product so this isn't a review of quality, I'm just letting everyone know that this won't fit a Porter-Cable PCB270TS. There isn't room for the thickness of this belt in there. But its all good, I bought it for the TS but I'll just throw it in the Jointer.

    Pretty Much as Advertized

This won't turn your contractor saw into a cabinet saw but it's useful. I just installed it on a 13 year old cast iron Craftsman saw. I'd replaced the original alumium pullies with cast iron or steel for a little more flywheel affect. I've up graded the blades and have a better table insert. Its a useful saw and this is a useful improvement. No doubt the blades are the biggest improvement.

This is one of those rare products that lives up to every bit of the hype. When I installed it on my Jet tablesaw I was very sceptical as to whether I would notice a difference. I turned the machine on and my jaw hit the floor. I immediately purchased enough to refit every machine in my shop. I couldn't be more pleased.

    Awesome belt

This belt really took a good deal of vibration out of my table saw. Another awesome trait is if it breaks I've got extra links to add to it and don't have to stop, go to the store and get a new belt. And I don't have to spend any more money! Great product.

Awesome product you NEED in your shop

I bought this belt type for my table saw. It reduces the vibration to give you a cleaner cut. It does not stretch like your common belt, and lets you repair it by changing out the links when it does break. (Don't discard the extra links that you don't initially use just for this purpose.)

Update of my February 2010 Review

After six months of use, I still consider this a Five Star item. However be prepared to readjust the length after a few months of use. The belt does settle in and stretch. Removing one additional link worked great.

    Well worth the spend

My contractor style table saw had lots of vibration. I replaced the old belt with the link belt in less than 10 minutes. Vibration and associated noise are virtually eliminated. I did the penny test and now a penny will stand up on end while the saw is running and not fall over. Great product!

You have belted machines? get one

This was an older machine that would have required much diassembly to replace an ordinary closed loop belt. How the original designer missed that is beyond me. But this way the belt is merely built around the axles.. and it vibrates less to boot.

    Smooth & Quiet

If you have thought about this item, just get it. I put them on my table saw, band saw, & drill press, all of which were perfectly tuned. The reduction in vibration and associated noise has been basically eliminated. Imagine going from wooden or metal wheels on you truck to modern tires, same thing. It is not the cheapest addition, but aside from keeping everything tuned and clean, it is the best thing I have done for my workshop.

Does what I expected it to do

I bought it because my new table saw was vibrating. I explored the source of the vibrations and found it was from movements of the heavy motor around its supporting arm pivot during operation. I further explored and found that the belt is making this movement. Replaced it with high quality engine fan belt but this did not solve the problem. I tried with this belt and the vibrations completly disapeared. I'm very happy with the result.

    Worth The Price

This was simple - no need to change pulleys. Setting the correct length was easy and it completely resolved vibration issues with my 10" Delta Contractor saw. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who has belt driven tools. The price is about 4 times the cost of the factory replacement belt, but I say it's worth it.

    Works As Advertised

Talk about targeted advertising! These two items were just what I had been looking for, casually. My table saw, almost as old as I, needed a new belt of a shorter length and my new el cheapo bandsaw needed blade blocks that were not soft plastic. Woodcraft supplies the things I can't get at the local hardware stores. Thanks

    Table saw vibration reduced?

I purchased this belt to replace the "v" belt that came on my Delta Contractors table saw. I also replaced the pulleys with machined pulleys. Because of the difference in diameters of the new pulleys the blade spins faster. I think vibration was reduced somewhat but the saw is no quieter than it originally was. That may be because of the increased speed. The length of this belt was easy to adjust and if, as advertised, it lasts longer than the original it will be worth the price.

    Incredible Difference

I purchase this based on what other users wrote in their reviews because my Delta table saw tends to vibrate during cutting operations, especially when ripping a piece of hardwood. The difference was incredible! No vibration on cross cutting, and very little on ripping. It does take a little extra effort to size the belt by removing and joining the links - but it is worth the effort. I would have no problem endorsing this product and would recommend it for any belt driven power tool. In addition, you will most likely end up with a few extra links. I stored mine in the cabinet in the event I have to replace one.

    Performs as advertised

I replaced two old belts on a low-end lathe that used to vibrate a lot! "Vibrate" isn't the best word. I was more like "buck." Now, the lathe is so smooth that it probably wouldn't even spill a glass of water. There is still a little vibration, but very acceptable for the work that I do. I'm sure that on a heavier machine with a solid base, the vibration would be nearly absent. Definitely worth the cost. My only concern is how long it lasts. Given my usage, however, I expect it to remain useful for years.
