This class will unravel the secrets of base cabinet construction. It will include design, face frame versus frameless construction and adding drawers and doors. During the class, students will collectively make one base cabinet from scratch.
In the raised panel door class, Mike teaches the students how to design, measure, and size the door to match the opening of the cabinet. Once that is done, students then cut out all of the parts using the miter saw, table saw, and router table. Each student will make and take home a completed raised panel door.
There are many methods, machines, and jigs for sharpening edge tools. Focusing on diamond stones, water stones, and the Tormek Sharpening System. Come see how Mike sharpens every edge tool in his (and Woodcrafts) shop! He will demonstrate sharpening bench chisels, plane irons, and scrapers. Bring in a handful of bench tools and let Mike show you how to get them "razor sharp"!
The club is dedicated to helping people advance their woodturning skills. From novice wood turner to advanced bowl turning craftsmen, we have people who are glad to share their knowledge and experience. Regular monthly meetings are held 6:30pm on the 4th Tuesday of each month.

The second Tuesday of each month Woodcraft, in conjunction with Tidewater Turners, hosts a free, informal meeting of woodturners. Each meeting has time for: Show and tell for items completed or in progress. Discussion of previous club meeting demonstrations. Discussion of a topic of interest for that meeting. General discussion of any other topics of interest. Each attendee is encouraged to ask questions and contribute their thoughts. No membership in any club is required.
