This class will cover the different types of router tables and fences available. We will also cover when to use a router table versus handheld operations, as well as, the bits that only should be used in a router table. Each student will have the opportunity to practice edge routing, pattern routing, and making a simple molding on a router table.
Learn how to use a hand plane like a pro. In this class we will use several types of planes in their various applications. Learn the techniques to make a perfectly square board, rabbet a groove, clean a shoulder, and true up a tenon. Tool List: A Sharpened And Tuned-up Bench Plane. Pre-Requisites: Sharpening Chisels And Planes Recommended. Tuition Notes: No refunds for cancellations less than 7 days prior to class. Reschedules only.
Demonstration and discuss the techniques used to safely operate a bandsaw. We will cover tune-up setup of the bandsaw for accurate cuts. This class is a great help to someone just starting out or anyone who wants to better his/her skills using this versatile tool. Each student will make a small box using the band saw. Tool List: Safety glasses with side shields, dust mask, and hearing protection are mandatory. Shop apron, notebook and pencil are recommended.
