This class will explore turning fundamentals. Topics covered will include: safety, different types of lathes, construction, tool selection, wood selection and preparation, different types of cuts, spindle turning and finishing techniques. This is for someone who is new to wood turning..
In this class we will build a small tool tote using simple joinery. Pocket holes, dadoes and finger joints all will be discussed. Tools used will include the table saw, drill press, band saw and router table. Each student will have the opportunity to use the tools and practice the skills demonstrated. Each student will build the components needed to assemble a small tool tote.
This is a great class for people buying a router or who already have a router but are not sure what to do with it. The students will learn safety, basic selection and use of hand held and table mounted routers, bit selection and various accessories that make the router one of the most useful and versatile tools in the workshop.
