Have you always wanted to learn woodworking but weren't sure where to start? This full-day, hands-on class is designed for beginners who want to build a solid foundation in woodworking while completing their very first project. During the morning session, you'll learn essential woodshop safety practices and become familiar with the operation, purpose, and safe use of common woodworking machines and tools, including the table saw, bandsaw, planer, jointer, drill press, routers, sanders, and more. Our experienced instructor will demonstrate each tool and explain when and how it is used in a typical woodworking shop. After a one hour lunch break, you'll put your new skills into practice by building your own traditional 5-board step stool from start to finish. You'll measure, cut, drill, assemble, and sand your project while receiving hands-on guidance every step of the way. At the end of the class, you'll leave with the confidence to continue your woodworking journey, your completed 5-board step stool, and a copy of the Complete Book of Woodworking as a valuable reference for future projects.
