Build An End-Grain Cutting Board

HANDS-ON. We have a GREAT KITCHEN CLASS from Doug Jones. Students will build, over the three nights, an End-Grain style Cutting Board from two contrasting types of wood. This 12" X 18" Cutting Board will be constructed from "End-Grain", not the Long-Grain of the boards. This traditional method of building a Cutting Board makes it VERY DURABLE. It will takes cuts from a knife and not show any damage for many years to come. Doug is a great woodworker and his hands-on approach to teaching will help you learn all the tricks for End-Grain cutting and glue-up. Square Board Fundamentals

HANDS-ON. Got rough boards? Want to learn the simple steps needed to machine that board square, flat and the correct thickness to build something? Then this is the perfect hands-on class for you. Howard will teach the basics of wood technology and stock preparation. This fun, quick class will cover the use of the table saw, jointer and thickness planer. Students will also learn which side of the board should be used for the outside of the project and learn how to glue up a panel without it cupping. Veneering Made Easy

LECTURE/DEMO. Does Veneering your next project seem too advanced and complicated? Attend this lecture/demo and learn just how easy Veneering can be. This class will show you everything you need to know. Learn the different ways to cut Veneer and how to glue it up on everything from a flat surface to a multi-curved object. Learn the different types of glue and which one to use with what kind of project. Different methods of clamping, including the vacuum press will also be shown.
