Cabinet Construction Series: Dovetail Drawers

This class will walk you through the procedures and techniques in making machined half-blind dovetail drawers with the Porter Cable Dovetail Jig. Dovetail joinery is incredibly beautiful in both traditional and modern design. Moreover, it has superior mechanical strength and structure, and is perfectly suited for all types of construction. Half-blind dovetails are frequently used in cabinet construction and drawers . Through (full) dovetails are seen in boxes, furniture, and carcase work. Design choices are endless, as any style of dovetail may be used in all applications. Ben will show you just how uncomplicated machined half-blind dovetails can be. There is no reason to be afraid to add dovetail drawers to your next cabinet or furniture project. This is an instructional Class where students will learn all about the dovetail jig. Time permitting, we may also demonstrate through dovetails.
