Each highly polished blade starts with the best alloy tool steel that is forged and finished to provide a proper balance of strength and weight. Blades are tempered to Rc 58-60 to create a durable, resilient cutting edge that stays sharp longer. Each tool has an octagonal, European hardwood handle. Overall lengths range from 9-1/2" to 11" with blade lengths of 3-1/2" to 4". “Swiss Made” tools shave wood smoother and more precisely than any other carving tool.
Unfortunately, when tools are crafted to the high standards of our Swiss line, demand often exceeds supply. We make every effort to keep all sizes and styles (over 315) in stock at all times. Sometimes we’re out of stock on a particular item because of the limited number of tools our Swiss manufacturer can make.
Many customers find that more than one size and style meets their carving needs. If you can accept a substitute tool, simply list your alternatives when ordering. We recommend you place your Swiss tool orders by using our toll-free number so availability can be confirmed and if necessary a substitute selected.
