Japan Woodworker recently became an authorized full-line dealer for Shapton sharpening products, which gives customers access to quality sharpening solutions for everything from chef’s knife blades to garden shears.
“With the addition of the complete line of Shapton products, we now provide the sharpening medium for a much wider range of tools – kitchen, garden and woodworking,” Woodcraft product development manager George Snyder said.
Customers may choose from two types of ceramic stones – the new Shapton Glass Stone® series and the Traditional/Professional Series that has been updated and sold for several years. “Shapton stones are the flattest and easiest to use sharping stones available,” Snyder said. “They are engineered using the latest technology for use on the highest grade tool steels, while requiring less maintenance to retain their flatness.”
“By offering the Shapton Glass Stones and Traditional/Professional Stones in grits from 120 to 30,000, Japan Woodworker customers will be able to find a sharpening stone to suit a wide range of needs, from putting a razor’s edge on blades for kitchen knives and gardening tools to sharpening household scissors,” Snyder said.
The Shapton line also includes two lapping plates, a sharpening pond, a stone holder and a field holder, all products that Snyder said are designed to deliver a consistently superior sharpening experience.
