“Children’s products must not contain a concentration of lead greater than 0.009 percent (90 parts per million) in paint or any similar surface coatings. Producers of painted toys for children are required to have a detailed Children’s Product Certificate showing when and where the paint was tested for compliance with the federal lead in paint requirement, although there’s no need to file a copy with the government.
