The first retail store opened by Woodcraft Supply, one of the nation’s oldest and largest suppliers of quality woodworking tools, supplies and plans, closed its Montvale Avenue location of 46 years on November 19, 2014 to a new, larger building at 185 New Boston Street, on November 20, 2014. The all new Woburn store is one of more than 70 Woodcraft stores located in major metropolitan areas across the U.S.
Grand Reopening Set for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 @ 10:00am – Mayor Scott Galvin will be doing the ribbon cutting honors for the Woburn community.
“We encourage customers to drop by and check out our new store. We are very excited about this new store,” Woburn Woodcraft Manager Tom Duram said. “We will have over 7,600 square feet of space to display woodworking tools, supplies, wood, and for our classroom. That is 50% more space than our previous location. Plus we have a much larger parking area for our customers.”
A Grand Reopening Event is scheduled for Feb. 7 and 8, 2015. “We will have free demos, prize drawings, vendors/reps on site, deals on power tools and more, plus free refreshments, Duram said. “Also, Phil Lowe, master furniture maker and founder of The Furniture Institute of Massachusetts, will be our special guest. Examples of his work will be on display in our store gallery through February.”
During the Grand Opening, Boston’s own Tommy MacDonald of the Woodcraft sponsored PBS TV woodworking show, Rough Cut-Woodworking with Tommy Mac will be on hand Saturday, February 7 from 10am to 12:00pm to give out free Rough Cut hats to the first 50 fans.
