At the Woodcraft Vendor Trade Show, we visited with the Easy Wood Tools Company, who is now onboard sub-sponsoring the Rough Cut-Woodworking with Tommy Mac PBS Show.
Tommy is excited over the tremendous support the Easy Wood Tools team is providing for season 2 of Rough Cut, and autographed a set of special edition, tri-color handled Easy Wood Tools to give away at the Nashville Show.

Easy Wood Tools make some of the finest woodturning tools that you will find. Their “Made in th USA” carbide tipped products consist of mini, mid-size, and full size rougher, detailer, and finisher turning tools with easy grip maple handles. In addition, hollowing tools have also been added to the arsenal. Say goodbye to sharpening as these cutters, which add up to 20 additional hours of turning from each of the four-sides of the roughing and detailer tools, as well as the edges of the round finishers, are replaceable once all edges are dulled. Secondly, the cutter’s designed so that you don’t have to ‘find the bevel’ when turning. Simply advance the tool slowly into the work piece and begin cutting straight in, or sweep the cutter from left to right, or right to left.
They also have a David J. Marks autographed limited edition Ci1 Easy Rougher with a 20″ easy grip bubinga wood handle. According to Rory Curtis, Easy Wood Tools National Director of Training and Service, “The use of bubinga wood is not just for it’s beauty, but more for it’s density, allowing for vibration absorbtion normally transmitted in this size handle.”
Instructional Easy Wood Tools videos can be found on the Easy Wood Tools video site, and on the Woodcraft Woodworking Adventures Blog video on Acrylic Pen Turning.
