Learn the basics of carving spoons. How to gouge out the bowl, how to slim down the handle and make simple yet useful flourishes for your simple basswood spoon.
Learn with Chuck Engstrom - professional turner -how to prepare and mount a blank, size a tenon, chuck mounting, rough vs. finishing cuts with a "fingernail" bowl gouge. Then, reverse mounting, hollowing with gouges and scrapers and tricks for finishing the base. With Chuck's guidance you'll soon be turning out elegant bowls.
