How to Make Basic Mortise and Tenon Joints by Hand

The mortise and tenon joint in its simplest form is used to assemble fine furniture , or a massive joint in timber- framing construction. However, there are many variations on the mortise and tenon joint, all with a common basic form: a cross-grain hole (mortise) into which a long-grain tongue (tenon) is inserted. In this class, Mickey will demonstrate how to layout a mortise and tenon joint along with cutting and fitting it by hand using simple hand tools.

Veteran Appreciation Free Class with Mickey Callahan

We would like to recognize 6 Veterans that would like to join us for a day of woodworking to complete an American Flag Presentation Box. Each Veteran will be learning woodworking skills alongside another veteran including our instructor, Mickey Callahan. We will provide all materials and instruction and as a special bonus, each veteran will receive a U.S. made American Flag which has been flown over our nation's capital. Our instructor will work with each veteran at the end of the class to properly fold their flag that will be placed in the presentation box.
