The last step in furniture making has been the most difficult of all. Finishing frustrates the most experienced woodworker. This four night course will take the mystery out of finishing. Topics include: sanding, surface prep, filling grain, staining, sealing, top coating, rubbing out, and wet sand polishing.

River End Table

Part 1: Monday, July 20, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

Build your own River End Table (19 x 15 in.) in this immersive two-day class with Regina! Day One: Participants will learn how to construct a shop-made mold, properly prepare wood and materials, and confidently mix and pour resin. We’ll explore pigment options for creating depth and movement, along with best practices for a successful curing process. Day Two: The focus shifts to demolding and bringing your piece to life. Students will remove the tabletop from the mold, refine the surface, and apply finishes suitable for everyday use. Throughout the class, we’ll also discuss: • Differences between resin types and their working properties • Mold design variations and construction methods • Finishing approaches to achieve durability and visual impact Leave with practical knowledge, new techniques, and a handcrafted river table ready to enjoy in your space.

Rush Weaving a Footstool/Campstool

Rush seating is a very old craft - examples have been found in the tombs of Egypt, and in England, the craft has been practiced since the 14th Century. It has always been admired for its simplicity, durability, and comfort. With the recent interest in traditional crafts and vintage furniture, rush seating is once again enjoying a revival. In this class, you will assemble a heavy duty footstool (approx. 12”x9”x9” -included in tuition) and weave the top with paper fiber rush cord for a project to be proud of. The techniques learned can be used on other seating options such as chairs and barstools, and for repairing or restoring family heirlooms.
