Turnin' Time 4 Hour Slot

Thursday, November 20, 2025, 1 PM - 5 PM

What’s “Turnin’ Time” you ask? Woodcraft Norfolk is starting a program where people can come into Woodcraft and turn. Several customers and previous students have asked where can I go turn until I buy my own lathe? You bring your own project and come and work. There will be an instructor on site to help you with any questions and provide oversight. This is a chance to turn, turn, turn. If you have a smaller lathe and want to make a project requiring the specifications of the 1642 jet lathes then find a friend or two and come to turning time. Safety will be of the utmost importance. Safety glasses and PPE will be required. You are welcome to bring your own tools and use them as long as they are marked. Woodcraft tools will be available for use. Contact Woodcraft if you would like to arrange a specific reservation date call Woodcraft with the dates and we will work to try to accommodate your requested dates. Students MUST have attended Intro to Woodturning previously.

Scroll Saw Basics

Thursday, November 20, 2025, 6 PM - 9 PM

The scroll saw is used to make very delicate and precise cuts in ply or hardwood to create decorative accent pieces. This 3 hour class will thoroughly review the functionality of the saw, blade options, and how it can be used most efficiently and productively.

Adirondack Chairs

Part 1: Saturday, November 22, 2025, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, November 23, 2025, 9 AM - 5 PM

Spend a weekend with Woodcraft and leave with a traditional Adirondack chair. This course is designed for the entry to intermediate level woodworker who would like to improve their furniture building skills. You will work with both power and hand tools to cut, drill, sand and assemble this classic chair. Instructions, drawings, cypress wood and fasteners are included in the tuition.
