Learn the traditional techniques of Middle Eastern marquetry in this hands-on class. Choose from a variety of designs and use a fret saw to cut 1/8-inch wood to create your own piece. Saman will teach you proper cutting, shaping, and template techniques, based on his training in Iran. Ideal for woodworkers looking to add marquetry to their projects, all tools and materials are provided. No workshop or electric tools required. Mixed Media & Painting

In this hands-on workshop, students will explore the exciting world of mixed media painting. Through step-by-step guidance, participants will learn essential techniques such as: 1. Creating 3D Textures: Discover how to use flexible modeling paste to build rich, dynamic textures that bring your painting to life. Learn how to layer and apply the paste for various effects. 2. Decoupage Techniques: Learn how to incorporate printed photos or illustrations into your artwork seamlessly using decoupage. You’ll master the process of adhering, sealing, and blending images into your textured surface. 3. Painting with Acrylics: Explore acrylic painting techniques, focusing on blending colors, adding depth, and complementing the textures and decoupaged elements in your piece. By the end of the class, you’ll create a unique, vibrant mixed media painting combining texture, imagery, and color, all while exploring your creativity. $20 Materials Fee Due to Instructor

Fantasy Carving

Create two imaginative animal figures while learning sculpting techniques and safe carving practices. You’ll also explore how to add color for a more expressive final touch.
