Description: In this class you will learn how to cut the dovetail joint by hand using only a handsaw and a chisel. OK, a saw, chisel, and a marking gauge. Alright, saw, chisel, marking gauge, and a pencil, but that's it. OK, OK, yes, there may be a small thing to mark an angle - and some tape. No power tools though, honest. All materials and tools provided, or you can bring your own tools if you wish.

Description: This is a skills class designed to expand upon the techniques learned in Basic Bowl turning. You will learn how to do a push cut, pull cut, and shear scrape with a fingernail bowl gouge. Techniques used to sharpen the gouge will be presented. In addition, the student will learn advanced chucking and finishing techniques as well.

Cabinet Carcass Making with Jon Romanakis

Class Size: 2-6
Description: Have you toyed with the idea of building your own cabinets for the kitchen, or the garage? And, as all woodworkers realize, the shop never has enough storage? In this new Cabinet making series, Students will learn basic fundamentals in how to choose and prepare stock to construct Base Units, Upper Wall Units, Drawers and Raised Panel Doors. Stock preparation will be accomplished utilizing the jointer, planer, electric miter saw, tablesaw and router table. Cabinet carcasses will be assembled using standard techniques and face frames will be assembled and attached using the Kreg Pocket Hole System. So, come on out, learn the techniques for making your own cabinets from the planning stage to ta finished product complete with drawers and doors.

Intro to Book Binding with Leslie Struthers

Description: Learn to make a book for yourself or your favorite book person. Students learn to use a bandsaw and drill press to make wooden book covers with a pen holder. Use a pyrography pen to burn a fall design on the front cover and add colour with craft paint. Students will also learn page making and binding techniques to complete their book. All materials supplied, no experience needed. All students leave with a beautiful book.

Raised Panel Doors with Jon Romanakis

Description: In the raised panel door class, Mike teaches the students how to design, measure, and size the door to match the opening of the cabinet. Once that is done, students then cut out all of the parts using the miter saw, table saw, and router table. Each student will make and take home a completed raised panel door.
