This in-depth introductory series, taught by hand-tool expert, Ralph Truesdell, focuses on hand tools and the role they play in your shop. Weekly topics include tool selection, sharpening, plane refurbishing, and using planes, spokeshaves, chisels, saws, scrapers, measuring and marking tools, and more. We’ll also discuss four-squaring boards, basic joints (including dovetails by hand), and how to cut curves. Learn the basics of hand tools for full builds or to supplement your power tools. The hand tools needed for class will be covered on the first night, or you can email woodcraft@woodcraft306.com for a tool list. Note: $25 materials fee is payable to the instructor on the first night of class.
