This class covers set up and proper operation of the scroll saw. The class is hands-on and the students will participate in several practice exercises during the session, then make an oven "push me - pull me" project. A great way to get comfortable with a fun tool.

Get the results you want with the proper surface preparation, the correct combination of finishing products, and use of the correct application techniques and tools for the job. Topics include: Properties and the finishing characteristics of wood species. Surface preparation and dealing with defects, Coloring wood with dyes, stains and toners, Selecting top coats and the characteristics of each, Application tools including brushing and spray gun basics, and Finishing the finish
Interested in learning how to turn a pen? You will get expert instruction and take home the Wall Street II pen that you made start to finish in this informative class. Begin by selecting the kit and wood of your choice, tour the pen area and become familiar with the other kits and projects that can be done on a lathe. If you have turning tools, feel free to bring them, however that is not a requirement.
