Woodworking 101 Small Box

The project for this class is a small keepsake box based on the Golden Ratio. In this class you'll learn to use many woodworking power tools like the tablesaw, jointer, planer, and router table. Since we'll start with rough lumber you'll about milling and cutting wood to reach "S4S." (We'll even tell you what S4S means.) In the end, you'll understand the steps to get from rough lumber to a finished product. If time allows we'll discuss the basics of finishes for the inside and outside of your box. If you've never heard of the "Golden Ratio" and its association with the "Fibonacci Series" (0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13...) you'll even get to learn something new in your woodworking class that doesn't make sawdust!

Sharpening Lathe Tools

Now that you have your new lathe tools, come join us to learn how to sharpen your chisels so that you can get the best performance from your equipment. You will be taught several different methods that can be used to keep your tools sharp and effective. You will be learning how to sharpen all of the basic lathe tools. This is a "must have" class for beginning woodturners.
