Epoxy River Table (2 Part Class)

Part 1: Sunday, July 12, 2026, 1 PM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, July 19, 2026, 12 PM - 5 PM

This is a 2 part class, All students attend both dates. Tuition includes the 1st & 2nd date. In this class students will be introduced to the process of making an epoxy river table, including mold construction, slab preparation, and epoxy pouring. Several different epoxy options will be discussed, along with dye and dust coloring. In part one, students will build the mold, cut and treat the slab, and pour the river. In part two, students will be instructed on how to prepare their river table for an epoxy top coat using several power tools such as the table saw, jointer, various sanders, and router table. After preparing, the top coat will be poured and projects would be ready for pickup in about a day.

Make a Three-Dimensional Effect Chessboard

Saturday, July 25, 2026, 10 AM - 3 PM

Make this eye-catching, 16-inch square chessboard, from Walnut & Hard Maple using a router table, table saw, & thickness planer. In addition, the students will learn proper gluing & clamping techniques, different finishing choices & general wood shop safety procedures. Also consider taking the "Scroll Saw: Chess Pieces" class!

Intro to CNC - Make A Custom Sign

Sunday, July 26, 2026, 12 PM - 4 PM

Create a personalized wooden sign while learning the fundamentals of CNC routing! In this hands-on introductory class, students will learn the basics of operating a NextWave CNC machine and designing projects using VCarve software. Participants will explore toolpaths, material setup, machine safety, and carving techniques as they create a custom sign to take home. Perfect for beginners with little to no CNC experience, this class provides a fun and practical introduction to digital woodworking and CNC design.
