If you would like to learn to start woodworking and build a decorative Step Stool for home use or as a gift, join Dave in starting your journey into woodworking. You will be learning to use a Table Saw, Bandsaw, and Router Table along with a Drill to assemble. All that will be left for you to do is put a finish on of your choice at home. Class participants must be 18 years of age or older unless special pre-authorization is given by store.

Intarsia Basics

Intarsia is a scrollsaw technique whereby you cut different species of wood into varied shapes to create a mosaic like picture. Each piece is sanded and formed to give the appearance of depth. Segmentation offers all of the same cutting and shaping skills of intarsia, but uses only one species of wood which is then stained or painted to achieve the colors you desire. In this class you will be doing segmentation to acquire the cutting and shaping skills needed for intarsia. When you are finished with this class you will have a better understanding of the skills needed to do an intarsia piece.

Build a 4 legged stool for your kitchen island or an outside table. This is a straight forward project, but still offers some challenges with joinery and compound bevel cuts. Once you make one, you will now be able to build more to have a complete set for your home.
