Take your woodworking skills to the next level in this hands on workshop focused on crafting a statement piece for your kitchen that will make your friends jealous. This class builds on the skills learned in Woodworking Fundamentals I, and reinforces precision milling, glue ups, and flattening techniques specific to end grain. NOTE: Materials are NOT included in the tuition; students must purchase at least 8bf of 8/4 (2" thick) lumber prior to the class. We recommend either walnut, cherry, maple, or teak, and can offer a 15% discount on any boards purchased for the class.

Simply Shaker: Writing Desk

Our Simply Shaker Series gives students a chance to make beautiful pieces of furniture that follow tenets of the Shaker style: simplicity, utility, and craftsmanship. In this session, students will build a Writing Desk featuring tapered legs and two dovetailed drawers; students who wish to reduce the depth of the project to use as a Hall Table can save $25 on tuition (email the instructor at jboley552@gmail.com for more info). Some of the tools used during the class include the jointer, planer, table saw, handheld router, dovetail jig, bandsaw, and router table. OPTIONAL UPGRADE: The tuition covers the cost of Cherry for the primary wood, but students can pay an additional $100 to use Walnut instead.

Bowl Turning Boot Camp

Part 1: Friday, October 30, 2026, 10 AM - 5 PM

If you've taken our Bowl Turning 101 class and want to spend some time focusing on bowl turning techniques and getting more comfortable with the lathe, this class is for you! Students will spend two full days turning as many bowls as they can with the guidance of our skilled instructor. While the focus will be reinforcing the techniques learned in Bowl Turning 101, the instructor will dedicate some class time to bowl design concepts, tool sharpening, and finishing techniques. Each student will be able to turn at their own pace, but most students will likely complete 4-6 bowls during the class. NOTE: Tuition does NOT include bowl blanks; feel free to bring 2-3" thick lumber from home or purchase blanks from us at a 15% discount the day of the class.
