How I turn with a silicone stopper.
I read a lot of people have expressed they come off. Well I just started into the bottle stoppers and what I did was uses med (CA)glue thick doesn't slide to easy and tends to squeeze out the base. No problem just have to clean it up. When I do these bottle stoppers I like to use a solid piece of wood turned between centers an cut a tenon to fit the stopper seal and after that is done I'll finish the bottom and tenon with a friction polish or what ever i'm using for the job. Next put the finished piece in a set of Jacobs jaws and bring back live center up for support and get a rough turning and remove live center and finish.

Superior stoppers
Stopperr seals bottle even when bottle is lying down, unlike more expensive chrome stoppers I tried. Tendency to slip off 1/2" dowel corrected by using clear silicone caulk to glue stopper to dowel.

Silicone Bottle Stoppers
The idea is good but a friction fit doesn't cut it. I used 1/2" dowels and they almost come completely off when removing them from the bottle. Need some way to fasten or glue them to the dowel.
