If you have ever been frustrated by the inadequate clamp opening and clumsiness of most drill press clamps, here is your answer. The post quickly mounts to most drill press tables with slots or holes, a bolt passes through the table and is secured with a large ring nut. To adjust the height for up to 5" of capacity, simply depress the clutch (similar to a pipe clamp) and slide the clamp head to the desired setting. Hold down pressure is provided by the cam action clamp on the head which features a 1-1/2" diameter rubber foot to help prevent marring your workpiece.
Features:
- Quick set drill press hold down
- Mounts to most drill press tables with slots or holes
- Cam action clamp quickly grips the workpiece holding it to the table
- Clamps rubber foot helps to prevent the marring of your workpiece

Works ok
I would give it 4 stars if the cam action throw was longer -- the 16th of an inch or so means that I usually have a three part sequence each time I change or reposition a work piece for another hole. First have to loosen the tab on the post and raise it, change or move work, lower post and then do the cam clamping. I would give it 5 stars if it also came with a nut that would fit in the slots of my table instead of having to be put in the only hole in my table.

Must Have for Your Shop - Terrific
This works wonders on the drill press so many times in so many ways. It is built solid and designed smartly. I can't say how wonderful this is and the price is very low for the value you get. If you don't have one, go now and get one, it is the drill press clamp I had always been looking for. I'll give one example of where it made things easy to fix a small screw up. I drilled 1/4 inch holes and then wanted to expand them to 5/16 inch holes. Using this clamp I could center the drill bit over the hole and the way it partially clamps helped me move the work slightly to ensure it was dead center and then you pull the handle to fully lock the clamp down. Now I did add another hand clamp for insurance but I didn't need to. This is really designed by someone who has done woodworking for a long time.

Glad I bought it!
Like the description states: "If you have ever been frustrated by the inadequate clamp opening and clumsiness of most drill press clamps, here is your answer." This clamp does and it is effortless to set and use.

Glad I bought this!
Loved everything about this except having to drill a thru hole in my drill press table. I would have loved the option to have a post that uses the hold down slots. That being said, once I decided on the best place to drill the thru hole it is very usefull and easy to swing away when not needed. Great holding power without marring my work.

Good Clamp
Does not take up a lot of space on my drill press
-
Handy Dandy
Holds most anything to the table, fast.
-
Excellent hold-down
I use as a drill press hold-down, and find it very convenient that you can throw the lever in 3 increasingly tighter positions as I am clamping something to the table. It's quick and easy to use.

Works well
Great addition for my drill press. Easy to attach and move. Great hold down capability. Quick set-up.

Excellent product, great price.
I have three of these hold downs: Two are on my drill presses and one is mounted on the work bench. I'm going to pick up a fourth to install on the mortise machine.

Short Throw
I Purchased this to hold down pvc pipe for drilling holes in the pipe... The throw or the distance between the beginning of the action and the end of the action is very short... It works well but would be better with a longer throw...

Not impressed
They do not work well with any drill press table. You need holes everywhere in your table for them to work with large ringed nut. Would be much better with T-track fittings instead. Another shop boat anchor. Live and learn.

OK Hold Down
Works OK as a hold down. However it is somewhat inconvenient to put on and take off.

Works Great
Wish I would have got two. Easy and quick. Wait till next sale

Drill Press Hold Down
So much easier to use than my hand clamps for securing to my drill press table.
-
A credit to the manufacturer
The best drillpress hold down that I have!Easily attaches to exactly where I need it on the table

Doesn't Fit All Drill Presses
When I bought this hold-down device I felt that it would be great for my MIT (Made in Taiwan) drill press; however, there is no hole in my drill press' table to install the hold-down in. Well hey, I've got a 14" drill press, that shouldn't be a problem, except that it is... This probably IS a great hold-down device, I'm just sorry that I can't use it.
-
safety is a good thing
I find it most useful for material that is considerably larger than the drill press base plate and for material greater than 1-1/2" thick.

Nice but could be better
The only issue I have with it is the slight amount of play between the shaft and the body of the clamp fixture. In order for the cam (that tightens the rubber pad against the wood when engaged) to hold the wood securely you need to move the body so that the rubber is fairly tight against the wood to begin with. That in itself isn't a problem, but if you want to repeat the clamping process on multiple boards, this initial tightening makes the rubber pad too tight (after releasing the cam) so when you remove the first board and go to insert the next board under the pad it is hard to get that board under the pad. You end up needing to move the body up on the shaft, insert the board and lower the body again and then re-engage the cam, makes more work than it could be if there was less play between the body and the shaft. Other than this repeatability it is a nice product.

Quick, easy & effective!
This hold-down is simple to install on my drill press, and easy (and fast) to move when I want it out of the way. The best part is that I can operate it one-handed while I hold the material to be drilled in place with my other hand. Which means I can make multiple drills on a piece without slowing down to readjust - the hold-down makes it much easier. I love it!

Handy
Not much to say. Well made and does it's job.
-
Nice unit - easy use
Good unit, easy to use but does not screw directly onto my drill press table due to metric threads (M10) - had to modify Jet 12" table. Catalog should list thread type.

Well made; works well
I use it in any of the holes I've drilled in my add-on drill press table. Works great when installed. A bit slow to move from hole to hole -- a lot of unscrewing and screwing.
