Not for me
I bought this in the hope that I could use it to transfer guitar patterns, but it is far too clumsy and inaccurate for the purpose. The curve is only secured every five inches, so irregular curves aren' t accurately copied. It's also very clumsy to use, especially oin a paper pattern. Could possibly be of use for simple curves in architectural woodworking- if you have a helper to help set it up.

Works beautifully
I bought this to loft some sailboat plans. I was a bit skeptical, but this thing works beautifully. If you need to make any large curves this is the tool to have. It is big, bulky, and heavy, but that is a good thing because it stays put while you draw your curve. You flex it to the shape you want and lock the knobs one by one. The metal guide is very flexy so you can make tight curves, but stiff enough to make fair curves. This is a must for boatbuilding or large furniture. So glad I bought it.

AWESOME!
This product was the BEST tool I had to create these 200 year old window curves. Would recommend it to anyone! I give it A+

too stiff
The idea and design are first-rate. But the spring steel (the "curve" part)is FAR too stiff to allow accurate layout or clamping of the seven lock knobs, especially when you're working alone. The stiffness also does not permit any small-ish curves. If the steel had the greater springiness of, say, a wide bandsaw blade, the tool might be ideal.

best tool I have purchased in some time!
used to template 40+ arched windows in preparation for window treatments. No other tool would have come close to the accuracy and speed that this tool gave me. This tool more than paid for itself with the very first window. There are countless applications for this tool. Well worth the puchase just to have in your tool arsenal.
