Woodworking Project Paper Plan to Build Large Spinning Wheel
Details
Build an authentic, fully-functional replica of a Saxon Spinning Wheel which can be used to spin either wool or flax. An authentic bit of early Americana, this project is also a fine decorator piece. Almost any kind of wood can be used, though antique spinning wheels have been found made mostly of pine, maple, walnut, and other woods native to the area in which they were used.
Some necessary parts require threads to be cut in wood, metal cutting, filing and brazing, and the plan shows how to make these parts by displaying them in full size.
This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size. Therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list and there is a detailed exploded diagram. All hardware requirements are provided.
NOTE: The exploded diagram is so detailed that project specific assembly instructions are not provided.
Size: 30" diameter (wheel); 45" T
