White Oak veneer is wheat colored to a light golden brown and is one of the most common woods used today. White oak is a common American hardwood that is easy to work with, strong, dense and decay resistant due to the abundance of tylose in its cells. It has a medium to coarse texture and an alternating tight to porous grain. White oak wood veneer is often stained and accepts finishes well which accentuates the beauty of the wood's natural grain. Wood on Wood or 2-ply veneer is created by permanently bonding two wood veneers together. The face veneer is perpendicular to the backer veneer which provides protection against bubbling that can occur when a veneer is improperly bonded to the substrate. This type of "crossband construction" allows the veneer to bend on moderate curves in the horizontal or vertical direction.
