Click mechanism fails with time as plastic

I can no longer make this pen with the knowledge of very high failure rate of click mechanism as it is plastic. I have now found metal click mechanism in duraclick pens/everyday carry pens and will try that as I am afraid to give away pens that seem to have high failure rate especially if ever dropped on hard surface. I wish they sold the click mechanism separate as over the years I have had to buy new pen kits just to replace the click mechanism.

    Will not retract completely

Built two and will not retract completely. The store replaced one for me and again would not retract completely. About an eighth of an inch protudes when retracted. I can not say enough nice things about the twist Wall Street II but would not recommend the click models.

    Great pen kit

I made a pen & pencil set for my sister using redwood burl and they are gorgeous.

    New inner works

The assembly instructions were printed in 2010 and do not match the present pen sold under the same name and #. After spending considerable time on a deer horn I sure did not want to assembly the pen wrong. Also the tip of the pen does not fully retract.

    Very Beautiful Pen

I bought this pen to make for my wife as a gift. The pen itself used with teak burl is very attractive. My only reason for a low rating it the spring tention on the pen is very weak and causes the pen to drag when un clicked. I solved the problem by installing a stronger spring. Now the pen works like a charm. Just should not have to modify a new pen.

    Professional looking

Turned numerous pens with a grab bag assortment of exotic woods that I purchased along with the pen kit. All came out looking outstanding. I prefer the click pen to the standard turn to open.

    Beautiful Pen

I am a beginer at pen turning. I bought 15 of the Wall Street II pen Kits in the month of March, mainly because they were on sale, and I am Glad I did. These are elegant pens, easy to turn, easy to assemble, and everyone i have given one to loves them. The Parker style pen insert is smooth as butter. Writing with one of these lil gems is a pleasure. For basicly [$] ([$] + half a 5/8" X 5" blank and some finishing materials) you get a pen worth $40, and writes like a Million bucks. For a beginer at turning, and these pens were the first thing i ever turned on a lathe, there is no better place to start. The Body is large enough to be forgiving to someone with Zero finesse when it comes to turning, but still small enough to use a 5/8" blank. The second benefit of the body/tube size is you can actually get 2 pens from one blank. Which may not be all thet great to someone who has turned 100 pens, but for me, it was a life saver. As for the lil metal insert for the top of the Pen Refill, I can see where that may be a slight problem, but no more than the loss of the spring from the tip. Simply remind whoever gets the pen that they will need to save the spring and insert from the other end when they change refills.I would Strongly recomend this, or any other Wall Street II pen kit, to anyone who is just starting the pen turning hobby or anyone who wants to make a gift that is worth many many times what you paid to make it.

Best Click Pen I have found

Very easy to make, the only issue that I have found so far is that if you need a replacement tube you can not find them.

    Wall St II click

Easy pen to turn and assemble but the spacer for the refill (Although 2 are supplied) means the customer will have difficulty changing refills becuase the spacer will be lost.
