Nice looking but can be non-functional
The kit looks nice but assembles a little differently than the other wall streets. Instead of directly threading the pen mechanism into the front nib of the pen it instead threads into a collar that's used to hold the decorative band in place. The issue stems from the fact that this collar is tapered, once the pen is fully assembled the blank is so snug against the collar tube that it's unable to be turned or disassembled without gripping it into a vice. I'm unsure if I got a bad part or what but ultimately none of the other styles of kits I've had have had this much of a problem being assembled. I would maybe recommend this kit very cautiously, it could cost you a real headache.
Nice looking pen, parts fit well and the twist mechanism turns well, but writing with it is a chore. The grip is very slick and your fingers will slide down the shaft making you have to grip it tighter. This tires out the hand and if you are going to do extended writing with it .... good luck. I can give this only 3 stars. As something to just look at then it's fine. On the other hand (pun) the black and chrome WSII twist has a less slick gripping surface. Different coating I would imagine. A little pricey to. I happened to get this one on sale at 20% off.
Quality control becoming an issue!
Overall we have been very happy with the WS2 pens, but as of the last several purchases we have noticed that the quality of the product has been in decline. The pens do no go together as well as in the past, and the "click pen" redesign is poor compared to the old design. We just had my wifes grand mother give us her gift pen back after 4 months because it would no longer stay open when clicked, and recently we had to get 3 pens replaced do to problems. We love the overall design and style of the WS2 pens, but better attention is need to product quality control. For customers new to the WS2 pens, some errors exist in the instructions on how to put the pens together and at times the directions can be unclear, thus good luck. We would still recommend these to a friend, but with some caution.
This pen has all the qualities of the other Wall Street II/Sierra pens, which happen to be my personal favourites and are also popular for sale. In addition this model, and I include both finishes, has a high quality appearance which gives it that extra sales appeal. I suggest you make one in plain black acrylic - I think it will knock your socks off, and outshines the Mont Blanc by far.
love these kits
these look great in my display set up at fairs and shows. easy to sell and able to keep price down due to price point of kits.
Well made and Elegant
This is a very good pen design. Components are well made and have a very good style when complete. These sell very well and have a nice elegant line. They make excellent gifts.
One Knockout Kit
I recently completed an order for one hundred of these kits. The decision to use this kit was a homerun. The job stayed exciting while the customer was amazed at the beauty of the pens.
good pen for the price
This pen is actually quite different fro the other Wall Street II pens. The components are well made and there is a decorative floral band between the blank and the writing point. The pen the barrel has a frosted satin finish with the writing nib being chrome. This should provide good wear. The cap and components press very well and are a bit longer than other Wall Street II pens. The quality is quite noticable if you are turning both types. Overall the components are high quality. Uses the parker refill. The single blank design allows you to make two pens with one standard size blank. I have turned several hundred pens and this is now one of my favorites.
Decorative band loose
The quality is not what I expected. The fit and finish could be much better.
Great kit and very good looking
I purchased this kit just to try it out. WOW. I love this combination of Satin and Chrome. I now have a daily use pen. I put a Corian body on it and have never gotten so many great compliments on a pen. It's comfortable and a real joy to write with.
classy and stylish pen
I make extra money on the side with this beautifully crafted pen kit. If you show it, you will sell it.
The perfect Christmas gift....
Wall Street II Satin
This is a very nice loking kit.
I would buy this product again
