Effective
Works as advertised. Should probably turn the knobs around for ease of loosening. Holds a DMT 8x3 in stone with a minimum necessary clearance to use the stone.

If you sharpen you need some of these !
I sharpen plane blades and chisels with diamond stones followed by Shapton Pro water stones. These hold and support the stones better than any other system I have used. I will be buying one of these with each order I make. When I have enough for my use I will give them away as Xmas stocking fillers.

It all depends on your use
I use honing stones to hone my razors. This handy device gets the stones up where I have freedom of motion with my hands to get a great edge on my blades. I have to change stone grits very often during the honing process and I find it to be extremely easy to use. If you have to get the stone up to suit your sharpening needs, this holder will fit the bill. I love it.

Good Product
Sturdy and very effective at holding a stone in place. Takes just a few seconds to loosen the knurled nuts to change stones. Holds stones above bench to keep them out of slurry and water.

Probably overkill for most users
This holds the stone securely, but it is a bit awkward to change stones. I think a simple mat of some kind would be a lot cheaper and quicker and easier to use.
