Few vendors in Woodcraft’s history have been as colorful or as long-standing as Geoff Brown of Sjöbergs. In May [2016], Woodcraft held its 19th National Sales Conference and Vendor Trade Show in Columbus, Ohio, and Geoff Brown has attended every one of them. Geoff and Yvonne, his wife of 55 years, announced their semi-retirement at this year’s event.

    Sjoberg's Gorgeous Elite 1500 Workbench

The first time I used the vises, I had a big smile on my face as I edge-sanded and edge-banded a 24" X 24" sheet of plywood. This is the vise I've been waiting for my whole life!

    One Year Later

I reviewed this bench a year ago. I was impressed then and I am still impressed. I have completed 10 projects and currently working on a chest of draws.I use all handpowered tools except for drilling holes. I hand plane all my stock including hard maple and red oak. The bench does not move. Heavy strokes with a draw knife will sometimes cause a minor jump in the bench but with no ill effects. A longer bench has merit but I have built two 7 ft one-piece kayak paddles and a 5 ft garden bench and was not handicapped by the length of my bench. The 2 vices are like new and do not sag. Top is still flat and in great shape. I have chopped a bunch of dovetails and mortices with no ill effect. I worried a lot prior to buying this bench. A year later I have no regrets.

    Awesome Bench

I use this bench for any number of woodworking projects and a lot of other work in my shop. Assembly was simple, although definitely a two-person job to hoist the top onto the base. The fittings, hole, and joint alignments were spot on. And - the bench itself is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. I'm glad I paid a little extra for top quality.

    I am extremely pleased

I am extremely happy with my purchase. Did not take much time to put together and I spent the rest of the day woodworking. What a pleasure to have such a fine tool.

    Really Nice Bench

Have had the Elite 1500 for just a few days but so far I am really impressed with it. Solid and well built to say the least. No more wasted time jury rigging a holding system in order to work on a piece. Ordered the bench on a Friday and it was at my house on Wednesday: WV to western CO in 6 days!
