    perfect

Leecraft makes a great insert. I had been looking for several months for a zero clearance (RG-5). and a Dado throat plate (RG-6) for my ridgid saw. I even tried to make my own insert. If you have this saw, you know it comes with a metal insert that is really thin. proved to be above my skill level to make one so thin around the edge. After the 1st set up i have had no further need to make any adjustments, and I switch between the factory metal insert, (miter cuts) and the leecraft insert at will. My only advise is that with 1st setup. running the blade up for the 1st time. Make sure with the zero plate that you take the blade all the way up, and with the Dado plate, run it up a little more that the blade depth that you want and the back it off. I you don't, the insert will vibrate and make a buzzing sound, thats a little scary. a 16th" clearance smooths it right out.

    Makes life easier.

This zero clearance throat plate for my new table saw is going to be hard to beat, all you need to do is insert it, and go, no muss, no fuss.

    Fantastic Insert!!

The only downside that I have to the Ridgid R4512 table saw is that its insert is so thin that it's difficult to make or purchase a zero clearance insert. The Leecraft insert is the answer to this downfall. It was super easy to setup, just turn a screw towards the back to help get rid of any wiggle room and then quick level it out. The insert even has easy access to the screws so you don't have to lift it up each time. Then slowly bring the saw blade up to cut your custom hole. I will totally be getting the dado insert as well.

Just what I thought it would be.

the two i ordered will get me started with zero clearance insert. I will attempt to make my own if i need more for different dado sizes or if wood craft offers a great deal i may order again.fits the r4512 perfectly

    Design Flaws

I was excited to find a manufacturer who, based on visual appeal, had designed what looked like an above average product. Unfortunately, the product did not hold to its visual appeal When adjusted to fit my Ridged 4512, the adjustment caused the piece to become coxed with respect to the cavity and therefore needed to loosen the adjusting screw causing other issues. I will probably be forced to return both items reluctantly.

    Good replacement

A good replacement of the oem throat plate. Definitely has reduced tearout on material.

    Worth the Price

I was going to make my own zero-clearance insert for my Ridgid R4512 but decided to go this route. Glad I did. It does take some time to adjust the leveling screws and the set screw in the side of the ZC insert to get a perfect fit but that would be the case with making one myself. I'll probably get another one or two before it's over. Highly recommend!

    Totally worthwhile investment

This device is a MUST HAVE for anyone with a R4512 table saw -- the insert fits perfectly, is stable, well constructed, tough, and is a no-brainer for anyone with this power tool. This insert is a major improvement over the stock metal insert which ships with the table saw. The only tricky part is removal of the riving knife and securing a 2x4 (or similar) securely to the table while raising the saw blade for the first time to cleanly cut the blade slot in the insert. Further, I suggest having separate inserts for each different blade for use with the saw, if your blades have differing widths or cutting style. I may buy another one of these units simply to ensure I have one should something happen to the first.

    Good product for the price

I love the look and no gap on this once cut and in place. However the insert seems to rattle against the blade alot. my table saw goes from really quiet to noisy when this is in place.

    Finally found one!

This is the only zero clearance insert that I have been able to find that specifically fits the Ridgid R4512 table saw. Other reviews said the riving knife would not work with this insert, but it does. The set-up instructions were very good -I was not exactly sure how I was going to hold it in place while raising the blade. They suggested clamping a 2x4 across the entire table which seems so obvious now. I was concerned that there is nothing really holding it in place (except gravity). The instructions made it clear that they do not use the magnetic piece like the factory plate. This has not been a problem. I have had zero clearance plates on other table saws and they make a big difference in the quality of cut. So I'm glad I found this one and it works exactly as expected. Making my own was an option but the opening requires some pretty fancy routing/layout, etc. so this was a reasonably priced alternative that works!

    would not recommend

it was not zero tollerance, i had to shim it with washers to make it come even close to flush, as it stands i was only able get it to the same tollerance that the factory plate had, i had to precut the slot because the gaurd plate would hit it, when i tryed to cut slot open as per instructions

A must to have for woodworkers

Prevents small pieces of wood to get into the dust collector bag or hit the table saw user.

Can't find anywhere, but from leecraft

This insert greatly reduces chip-out, it should be included with the saw. Ridgid's design of the original table insert is in such a way where it's nearly impossible to make your own insert from MDF like many do with their other saws. The tablesaw's adjustment screws only allow about 3/16" space for the insert to rest upon, not giving a good amount of meat to grab onto. This commercial insert made by leecraft solves the problem.

    well worth the money

Nice, rigid, well made insert. The surface is nice and slippery. Seems like it should last quite a while. The one I received was flat within .002". The only thing I would like to see is to have another adjustment screw in the front to make it a bit easier to tighten up the fit. However, even with just the one screw in the back, it can be adjusted for a snug enough fit.Highly recommended. I mean, come on, it's only about [$]. Well worth the money.

This zero-clearance blade insert has made ripping thin strips and using dado blades a lot safer.

    pretty good

Seems to work well. Unfortunatly the riving knife will not work with the insert as advertised, unless I am doing something wrong but the instructions are unclear as to doing anything other than what I have already done.

    Well built & Sturdy

Well made insert that fits well. A little play side to side near the front of the insert but nothing major. All in all a worthy investment. Easy to install & use. A must have if you don't want or have time to build your own.
