Decent saw, but be prepared...
First off, this is not a poor quality saw. Once I resharpened and reset the saw, it cut very effectively and is serving me well. HOWEVER, as purchased, the saw has a very wide set and likes to wander, and it is sharpened such that it will cut very slowly (rip or crosscut). I bought this saw to use for general purpose joinery - dovetails, tenons, etc... but it didn't do any of them very well. As I received it, it would suffice for rough cutting in a miter box. I retuned the saw, resharpened it to a nice fine rip cut, reduced the set, and it now cuts as well as a much more expensive saw. But I would argue that a much cheaper saw would perform similarly if it had similar tuning. The handle is quite uncomfortable for prolonged sawing... I don't regret buying the saw, but I have a hard time arguing that it was really worth it. I'd buy a more expensive higher-quality saw, or a cheaper saw and tune it up myself...
