If you’re tired of struggling to get a perfect fit when setting up a dado blade, you’ll love Woodpeckers latest OneTIME Tools, the Dado Set-Up Fixture and Gap Gauge. It all starts with the Gap Gauge. Squeeze it down on the stock that will fit into your dado, lock it, and you have a perfect reference for the correct width of your dado. Then, rather than messing around down inside the guts of your table saw, the Dado Set-Up Fixture lets you stack your dado blades and chippers right out in the open, without any tools. The large knurled knob spins down and locks the stack just like your arbor nut. Now use the Gap Gauge to check the width of the dado assembly, adjust with shims as necessary, transfer to your table saw and you are ready to go.
The Dado Set-Up Fixture has shoulders milled into the base making it simple to grab the fixture in a bench vise. No vise? No problem. You can drill two holes in your benchtop and simply drop in two 3/8" locating pins. For a third mounting option, we’ve included a set of bushings that press into the 20mm holes on your Festool MFT, then the locating pins drop right in the bushings.
Once the DSF is secure, it becomes an easy-to-access “clone” of your table saw arbor. Assemble your dado blades and chippers on the vertical 5/8" bronze arbor…using gravity instead of working against it (also available with a 1” arbor for larger saws). Either arbor will accommodate up to 15/16" of dado width – that’s more than the maximum capacity of most dado sets. The large knurled knob spins down quickly and locks firmly with just finger-tip pressure. Making minor adjustments with shims couldn’t be easier. Just spin the knob off, add shims and check it again…no busted knuckles, no arbor nut lost in the sawdust or caught in the dust collector hose. When you’ve got it just right, carry the whole assembly over to your saw to transfer it. The deadline to order yours is Monday, April 1, 2019. Once orders are filled, these tools will be retired from our product line. Delivery is scheduled for July, 2019.
