DelVe Into the Cool Features of our Newest Square
Instant Access to Standard Measurements. “Asymmetrical” is generally not an adjective you want in the same sentence with “precision square”, but the asymmetrical base in the new stainless steel DelVe Squares gives them more functionality than any other small squares on the market. You see, the stainless steel blades are inlaid into the bases, not at the exact center, but offset so that one side is a perfect quarter inch and the other side is a perfect three-eighths.
Now when you’re working with 3/4” stock you can instantly find the exact center or divide it in perfect thirds. Lay out mortise and tenon joints effortlessly. Locate dowel pin and fastener locations in seconds. This bit of genius design was the brainchild of Jamestown, NC professional woodworker Tom DelVecchio. The original DelVe milled aluminum square is one of our most popular OneTIME Tools ever. Now we’ve woven those original features into a larger square, cut the body out of rugged stainless steel, and added a couple more convenient features.
The Offset Base is Just the Beginning. The 3-1/2" square is precision drilled every eighth of an inch along the 90° edge. Drop the point of a mechanical pencil in one of the holes and slide the DelVe square along the edge of your stock. You’ll get perfectly located scribe lines for your layout work.
The hypotenuse edge is calibrated in one-degree increments for quick and accurate lay out of angled cuts. We dropped in extra lines at 22.5° and 67.5° to make octagonal construction a breeze.
More Measureless Marking. On the 3-1/2” model, every cutout edge is a perfect half inch. We also milled down one end of the base to give you 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2" and 3/4" setup block references for saw blade, drill press and router bit depth of cut adjustments. There’s even a hole milled to perfectly locate a self-centering drill bit at the center of a 3/4” edge.
Two Sizes…Tough Choice. The 3-1/2” DelVe Square begs to be slipped into your shop apron pocket. Your 3-1/2" DelVe Square will come in a fitted case, to keep it safe when you’re out of the shop.

What are our OneTIME Tools? They’re the tools that our partners at Woodpeckers plan to run once. Often these are tools we ourselves would like but can’t put in full production. The process is simple; they build a couple, take some pictures and open a 10-20 day window for others to jump on the production run. Once they know how many to make, they get them done and move on to something else.
By buying a OneTIME Tool, you will own a limited run precisely machined tool that will make you the envy of all your woodworking friends, and you have a tool that will be used for generations. These tools are proudly made in the USA.
