    Details

Bethlehem Olivewood (Olea Europaea), a very hard and close grained wood is yellow or light greenish-brown and is often finely veined with a darker tint. It has a fine texture with a shallow interlocked grain giving it a marble appearance. Olivewood is a dramatic and beautiful wood milled from the pruning’s of trees that no longer produce fruit. The wood comes from the Galilee region of Israel or Holy Land, which makes for wonderful conversation pieces. Olivewood trees live and produce fruit for hundreds of years. The older the tree is the broader and more gnarled the trunk appears. Its root system is so robust that it can regenerate the tree even if the aboveground structure is destroyed. Common uses for Bethlehem Olivewood include turning projects.
