I was dead wrong and stupid!!!

I gave an unfair and totally incorrect appraisal of this tool last Spring. Not paying attention to the name of the device, I tried to sharpen my planer blades, enter stupidity. The name of the tool indicates it is for a jointer, not a planer, DUH!!! A little while ago, I was computer searching for a way to sharpen jointer blades and the WC ad for this tool appeared. I swiftly kicked myself in the rear section and got out the sharpener. Using the photo showing how it is positioned on the blades, I sharpened the JOINTER blades to perfection and finally got rid of snipe. My apologies to WC and my Lenexa store.

    Save your money

I bought this thing today (4/15/13) at the Kansas City store for my Delta 12 1/2" planer purchased at WC about ten years ago. It does not fit my blade set-up and there is no information how to use the "tool". I tried the best I could to make it work and found there is no way to steady the stones according to the angles of the chippers and knives. Further, it is not possible to make contact with the ends of the knives because the housing of the machine blocks it. You will not find anything on the internet about how to use it. My regret is I tried to get it to work and rendered it not returnable but I'll try. WC will send your knives for sharpening at a cost far less than any sharpening device. WC should take the thing off the market or at least post an advisory regarding it's uselesness on a Delta 12 1/2". Bradkansas
