Nice Size for a small shop
I bought this to sand my segmented rings on the turnings I do, but have branched out using it on furniture and gifts as well. I am very impressed with how well it works as long as you don't feed the work to fast.

All the sander i need
I build musical instruments, and have no use for any wider drum. This small sander is as powerful and precise as larger units, so I am very thankful for the smaller footprint and price. It took a little while to get the tracking set right, but it has not strayed a bit after several uses. Changing belts was awkward the first few times; the little tool they supply does not help much. By the 5th or 6th change, it was pretty easy.

A great addition to the shop
I didn't know I needed this sander until I bought it. It has made woodworking different because it isn't a surface planer, and isn't a handheld belt sander. It will grind down pieces with 60 grit, or super finish sand pieces with 220 grit, and do it very accurately, different than a planer, and more accurate than a belt sander. It makes easy work of exotic wood or curly maple that would be troublesome in a planer, and is very precise for accurate woodworking. Changing grit is very easy after the first few times, and tracking the belt is easy if you pay attention and listen to the machine. I am a shop teacher, and I always tell my students to listen to the machines and they will tell you if they are alright or need something, and this sander applies to that - belt tracking, sanding too little or too much. Very well made, and will produce great pieces for you.

HUGE TIME SAVER!!!
I have a small luthier shop where I specialize in custom ukuleles. This sander, in the first day I owned it, allowed me to sand three soundboards to perfect thickness, make three perfect saddles, and three perfect fingerboard blanks! This amount of work would have taken days to do by hand. This machine literally paid for itself in the first day, I could not be more pleased with what it has added to my shop. Setting the tracking of the conveyor was relatively painless and tuning the angle of attack for the drum was easy as could be. I am only in the setup and honeymoon phase with this tool but I have to say that the cost to value ratio is incredible. My only real gripe is that the manual that came with my "10-20 Plus" was actually for a "16-32 Plus". Not too big a deal because I was able to download a PDF manual from the Jet website to my iPhone so I always have it near if I need it.

Great Investment for a small shop
I operate a small guitar shop that focuses on exceptionally high end instruments, and this sander is, without a doubt, one of the most used and most reliable machines in the shop. The only negative about it is changing the belts, which can be a bit aggravating at first. BUT after you learn the trick to keeping it tight, it's easy and only takes a minute, literally. It sands consistently and is well worth the price. Other than that, and also that the belts are a little pricey (they last a while tho-I go through rosewood like a marathon runner and belts still last a few months)you can't go wrong with this one! Highly recommended....

very quiet
I like to make really nice wooden tool/jewelry boxes and other small wood items. This is perfect for flattening the glued up panels that will be sides/top/etc. It also gets the slight cupping out of the material to be used before they are glued. Very little, if any, snipe. Expensive - but the construction is top notch.

I have other Jet produces
Has a much better raising and lowering system than the one I bought the Jet to replace.
