JessEm® Model 04215 Clear-Cut™ Precision Stock Guides are the ultimate hold-down on the router table. Featherboards are limited in their ability to guide material accurately against a router table fence while Clear-Cut™ Stock Guides operate on the same principle as a stock feeder in that the stock is guided at a slight angle as it is fed forward. Rollers with one-way needle bearings are mounted at an angle, effectively steering your stock toward the fence. Stock is pulled tightly to the fence, and the gripping force of the rollers holds it securely in position.

Features:

  • Unique roller system holds down workpiece and pushes into fence for precision stock feed
  • One way rollers prevent kickback
  • Quick adjustment for easy set-up and fine-tuning
  • 1-1/2" urethane one-way rollers set at 5° toward fence and 2-3/4" total adjustment
  • Maximum stock thickness from router table surface to 9/16" below center of T-slot
  • Compatible with most router table fences with a horizontal 1/4" T-slot above the fence faces
Specifications:
  • Ideal Mounting Height: 3-3/8" to 3-5/8" from table to center of T-Track
What's Included:
  • (1) Infeed stock guide
  • (1) Outfeed stock guide
  • (1) 1/4" hex key
  • (1) Detailed instructions

    Extremely well made

I was amazed that even the "bolt" that goes into the T slot wasn't just a normal bolt but machined to fit perfectly. They work well and remove one complexity of accurate routing, making sure the stock is held down and against the fence. I have a Jessem Rout-R-lift as well and Jessem items are extremely well made for the $.

Tried them but not really satisfied

I got this because I have the similar ones for the table saw and they are great! But these...I just don't know. Maybe I'm just too used to having more control with hands and push blocks/sticks. These have to be set just right or it's hard to push a piece through. IMHO, they get in the way of using push blocks and sometimes even the push stick. I have the Jessem fence so it's a perfect fit. So that isn't the issue. I've been using them for couple of months now and I have to be honest, I prefer feather boards and/or push blocks for better control.

JessEm - Clear-Cut Precision Stock Guides for the router table

Yes they are a good accessory. The 5 degree angle keeps the stock tight against the fence and the rollers make sure the cut is a consistent depth. This lets the user concentrate more on speed control of the stock to avoid burning in Cherry and Maple. There are no free lunches here. The guides do not have the 'spring' of a featherboard which means slight inconsistent variations the stock thickness either causes extra effort to push the stock past the cutter or the urethane rollers lose contact. This of course happens when you have many individual parts that have been prepped in individual sessions with the jointer/tablesaw/planer combinations. Yes I will keep them and continue to use them as they are great for that final step in preparation using a router table. Rough less precision work will still use featherboards.

Jesse Router Guides on Bosch Router Table

I bought these router table guides to replace the tedious featherboatd setup. Initially the router guides are not holding the stock. Upon further tinkering I identified that the T track on my router table fence is not flush with the fence so the angle of the router guide is changed and as a result the guides are not holding the stock. I added some extra washers to the bolts to make sure the angle of the router guides is parallel to the fence and the guides work like charm.

I'm throwing my feather boards away!

My first step into the JessEm line was the purchase of JessEm Mast-R-LiftI II. It is rock solid and built like a tank. So when JessEm came out with these guides that also replace my feather boards on my router table, I was more than interested. Before I purchased these I opened the box @ Woodcraft store just to check them out, these things are heavy duty! The finish is great and just like my lift you can just tell when you pick some things up its a quality product and its made to last forever. (Something I have learned about things made in Canada--The stuff last forever!) These guides work great, and the 5 degrees is just enough to suck the stock against the fence and still make stock feel very secure even without a feather board. I also like that JessEm has made these very easy to adjust without any tool of any kind and they can even stay on my fence when I'm not using them by adjusting one of the thumb knobs. Works great would purchase again in a heartbeat...

    Solid!

After getting a router and table for Christmas, I found that I wasn't as confidently skillful a I thought I was. Although I had to make some small modifications with my fence (it doesn't have a t-slot rail), it fit on easily and worked perfectly. It really does grip and guide stock tight against the fence, and feels so much more secure than featherboards. The salesfolk at our local Colorado Springs Woodcraft store were knowledgeable and extremely helpful in helping me figure out a solution, not only for hassle-free routing, but also clamping. I'll be going back to that store again and again in the future. 5 stars for the staff as well!

    Great Product

I have the Incra TS/LS with the router fence system and these hold downs fit perfectly into the fence slot. Easy to put on and remove from the fence. Also the 5 degree angle on the one way rollers works as described for keeping the stock pulled toward the fence while holding it down on the table. A little pricey but the engineering is there. Rugged with nicely knurled tightening knobs.
