clearing and use around the homestead. The 1.75-lb. head on a 20" handle give this hatchet a little more power and range, more like a small axe. The Salen is a production “hatchet” with the head having the look of blasted and clear-lacquered ironwork and a handle made of U.S. sourced hickory.

The Salen Hatchet head is made from Swedish axe steel struck multiple times during shaping and forging, which increases both the density and durability of the hatchet head. Plus the head is constructed in such a way that there is a tempered zone designed to hold a very sharp edge even after years of use. Handle is American hickory treated with linseed oil. A leather sheath is included.
