    Poor Quality All Around

Many things were wrong with this table: Instructions were flat out incorrect. It instructed you to use more washers than were listed in the BOM. About 1/4 had fasteners with drives that were partially cut... I had to go buy my own fasteners! Comes with a leg adjuster that is so poorly designed, you have to flip the entire table upside down to adjust it. This table certainly isn't worth the money I paid for it.

    needs better QA

Bought this to anchor my scroll saw onto. My scroll saw is already attached to a 1-1/2" thk. board so will just anchor this board onto the top of the table stands top after extending the halves of the table top. All parts were present but found one of the screws without a stamped Phillips "+" on its head and the MDF shelf halves were too wide to fit flat inside the shelf frame so had to trim off about 1/8" from one of them. Once together, it seems sturdy. Also bought the HTC2000 Adjustable Universal Mobile Base to make this table stand mobile.

Decent stand as is, great when fixed

Though this stand is rated to 500 lbs, there is no way I would ever want to approach that weight using the supplied top and shelf. The 3/4" top flexes and the shelf is a joke. Add some 3/4" plywood to top and shelf and it is very strong. I purchased this on sale so it was a good deal. I wouldn't pay full price for this item.

    lightweight, reasonably priced.

This is a nice tool stand that is lightweight and reasonably strong (although I'd be pretty uncomfortable putting 500 lbs, the rated strength, on it). On sale it is VERY reasonably priced. My only issue with it is that the position of the shelf below the top is not adjustable, and it is just a LITTLE too close to the top for me to store another table top power tool underneath. Another inch lower and it would have been perfect.

    Is Sturdy Enough When Finished….But

I want to echo what JEFF had to say in a previous review….it's right on in almost all issues. Instructions are not clear and some mistakes. You pretty much have to figure it out on your own. And yes, by all means, throw all of those fasteners away, and get yourself a set of ¼" bolts and nuts of the right size. It's almost impossible to hold a flat blade screwdriver in the slot while wrenching on a nylok nut! Allen hex-head bolts would have been a lot better! In regards to using casters on the feet, You need to first drill out the plastic hole to ⅜" so yopu can use the gray-colored casters with the ⅜" threaded shaft. Use a fender washer under the foot before inserting the caster. Difficult getting the nut tightened without a special slim wrench on the bottom of the caster. I ended up drilling through the feet at two places and inserting a #10 screw and nut to hold the feet to the metal leg. I totally disliked the cheap pressboard that was included in the set, and replaced with ½" plywood, using carriage bolts to hold to the metal frame. So ultimately, you need to do some additional work to make it a halfway decent stand. But once together, it works okay. I keep a Makita chop saw on one stand, and a Bench Dog router table on another. Clearly, casters (lockable) are the only way to go!! Make the table top a few inches wider for mounting a good worklight too! Using one of these stands (if found on sale) is a good headstart as opposed to building something out of wood from scratch.

    Not impressed.

Assembly instructions were flat out incorrect. Once it was assembled it's wobbly and unstable and not square. If I hadn't gotten this thing on sale I would return it. This piece of junk is far below Woodcraft's usual standards.

    Very Good Value....

Don't buy this at the listed price. Wait or look for it on sale. It then becomes a very good deal. The MDF shelves are useless so you basically are buying the metal frame which is very sturdy and well made. You can use this table right out of the box. But here are a couple of thing that I did after reading the reviews. Toss the assembly hardware and get the correct length and better quality. Bolt the bottom shelf to the frame at the four corners. It really strenghtens the table. I'm using my table as a sharpening station. Things can get very wet so I recycled the MDF top and bolted a piece of sealed 3/4" scrap ply to the frame and all is well. I find this table very sturdy, the right height and size and if needed, I can add a larger top for a bigger work space. It's a good deal if you can find it at a sale price.

HTC Universal Tool Table 31 inches.

Economical selection as a workbench to hold up a mini-lathe. Less expensive than many other alternatives.

    glad I got one

nice to have, mounted my sand flea and is stable for that use....had to cut the storage boards to fit and the plastic feet will not allow for caster mounting...had to add a wood platform to allow caster mounting...small shop so everything I use is on casters....

    God Table, Bad Table

I bought this stand to put a disc/belt sander combo on for my new woodshop. Now that I have it assembled, it seems like a nice and sturdy, stable stand. Geting it assembled was another story. The nut/bolt/washers are absolute junk. They (or at least the ones I got) are not a standard size, so neither my metric nor standard inches sized wrenches would hold the nuts. I ended up using a Vise Grip and hand screwdriver. The screw heads are cheap and strip out easily, and this is with a hand held screwdriver, not a power one. Additionally, the bolts are mighty short, another 1/4 inch would have been nice, especialy assembling this unit by yourself. The lower shelf rails are to be mounted in what I consider an upside down position, creating a lip all the way around for the shelf to fit into. I did not figure that out until after everything was tightened down, so I had to remove these parts and flip them over, the reinstall. I think the directions should have been more clear about the way these brackets assemble. The lower shelf as noted elsewhere is two pieces, the fit is very tight, I scribed a line on one and was going to cut it down, then decided to lift both up and press them down from the middle where the joint is, that worked great and made the stand even more solid. The instructions need to have larger and more clear pictures, and be updated, for example mine say to put the plastic feet on the end of the leg with the rectangular hole - there is no hole at the bottom of any of my leg pieces. And, as mentioned prior, locking casters would be really nice. I am off to find some locally to retrofit. So, a frustrating assembly, and really junky hardware. But in the end, I think this will be a very nice sna duseful stand for my shop.

    Worth the money

This table shipped very quickly and was inexpensive. I put a Ryobi Drill Press on it. It's a little wobbly, not bad, but not as sturdy as it could be. It was very easy to put together.

Exactly right for supporting my lathe

It is compact and sturdy enough for supporting my Jet mini lathe that needs to be moved occasionally in my very limited shop space. Lockable wheels on the legs would be nice, but as it is it can still be lifted off floor and moved a short distance by one person accostomed to such exertion.

Strong, sturdy replacement for a bench

I needed a sturdy replacement for a rapidly deteriorating bench for my miter saw. This one fit the bill, and it is just big and stable enough to get the job done. May very well have prevented an accident from happening.

    Legs need improving

I believe that the legs could be made of a little heavier guage steel.

I will purchase more as needed.

I bought two of these tables to mount bench top drill press and planner. Works perfect and gives me more bench top room, in my workshop.

Great unit for the price But....

This is nice to have a portable strong work table..! It's very well painted no sharp edges and easy to install with one person. All the hardware was great quality and no missing parts found. The table work top are in two sections, it should be one piece and could be a little large in size. (Packing issues?) Also the instructions was easy to follow... One problem, the bottom shelf is also in two pieces and the length was about 3/16 of a inch too long and would not fit. I needed to make the minor adjustments. Over all this is very strong and easy to move by one person. Would be very handy for many jobs in and out of the shop...! And great for portable Ham Radio needs as well. Mike K6QFO

Every shop needs several of these

difficult to assemble by yourself, would be helpful to have an extra set of hands

    great stand, order two !

Just finished putting one together and was impressed with the stability and size. Perfect for a small shop, easy to move around. Lower shelf is handy but too flexible for heavy tools. I am ordering a 2nd stand today.

    HTC scores again with quality

I bought this stand exclusively for my bench top osillating spindle sander. It is very solid like I expected from HTC. The shelf that is included with it has proved very useful as I had planed on storing extra sanding sleeves etc... on it. was just a bit challenging to assemble by my self because of the angled legs. How ever the sabillity build into this stand far off sets the inconveniece that this caused. I would strongly recomend this stand to anyone looking for a very good priced solid stand.
