This Festool miter saw with Kapex blade comes with Festool's high-quality 60-tooth carbide blade for use when cutting woods or soft plastics , the angle transfer device, a hold-down clamp for securing material, and a wrench for unit adjustments. Compact and lightweight at 21.5 kg (47 lbs). Use the fine adjustment knob on the Festool miter saw to control bevel angles in fractions of a degree. The bevel knob has three settings: positive detents at 0 and -45 degrees, free movement between -45 and +45 degrees, and free movement up to +/- 47 degrees. Bevels can be made to the left or right, and the bevel gauge appears on both sides of the saw. The Kapex blade creates a thin kerf which reduces load on the motor and improves the cut quality.

The blades are specially designed to reduce noise levels and dampen vibration. The large 30mm arbor hole reduces blade deflection. A special cutting position allows the Kapex to have a cutting capacity as large as 4-3/4" (120mm). The deck height of the Kapex matches the height of our Systainer 1 storage containers. On the job site, you can use one or more systainers to support the material being cut. The difference in height between the MFT/3 and MFT/3-Kapex multifunction tables is also equal to the height of the deck providing optimal work flow and support. The Magnesium alloy base of the Kapex was designed to be extremely rigid and durable yet very lightweight. Rubber feet in each corner provide useful traction and fit into the grid hole pattern of any Festool multi-function table. Features Festool's patented FastFix blade change system. Turning the FastFix knob locks the arbor, mechanically locks out the trigger, and allows the blade to be changed with a single hand. Dual-line lasers define the entire cut area. Festool products can only be sold in the 50 states.

    • Dual-bevel sliding compound miter saw
    • 10" Blade with extended capacity capability up to 4-4/3"

As with the other tools in their line, Festool’s Kapex mitersaw sets the bar not only in terms of innovation and precision, but also in price ($1,300). But if you can survive the sticker shock, you’ll have a saw that’s unlike any other.

      LASER BUTTON

Great saw but they could have put the laser button in a more convenient location.

      Motor Troubles

I love this saw overall, but its going back in for service again for the 2nd time motor problems both times. I have worked as finish carpenter for 20 plus years and have never had this problem with other brands. I am starting to think this is a over priced hobby saw not meant for the job site. This saw is costing me time and money now.

      Worth every cent

Replaced an old Delta 12in with the Festool after many months trying to decide to spend the money. After recalibrating the lasers this tool exceeds my expectations. I use it to build furniture.

Kapex is the Rolls Royce of miter saws

Spending this amount of money on a miter saw was a VERY big deal for me. Having never owned a Festool product, I had to base my decision to purchase it on reviews and articles about this item as well as other Festool products. Having used it now for several months, I must say that it is worth every penney. The design and fit and finsh is outstanding. Precision cuts with this saw are a piece of cake. Dust extraction with the Kapex is superior, easily in the 95% range. I have found nothing about the design of this product that could be improved upon. The Festool saw blades,(Ihave two) are top notch, producing a silky smooth finsh with no chip-out or fuzz on both hard and soft woods as well as phenolic plywood and Baltic Birch. Now, I must address four things that did disappoint me. The users manual is very bad(it should be re-written) and my unit did not come with the miter and bevel angle indicators calibrated. The lasers, as well were not calibrated. All were out in excess of 1/8" or more. I had to contact a Festool tech rep for help in calibrating the lasers. The users manual needs to re-written. I owned my own machine shop and manufacturing business for 32 years and have much expeience with machinery. Given that, I am very impressed with this product and would recommend it to anyone. I plan to add more Festool products to woodshop tool inventory.

the best money can buy and worth it

i bit the bullet and bought the kapex after i had problems with the new bosch glide. my only regret is i did not buy it years ago when it came out. this saw is the most accurate saw i have ever used , and i have used most of them. the slide movement is smooth with very little flex. the geared head is a lot easier and more accurate than others i have used. i make fine furniture and cut mostly hardwoods. this thing did an amazing job out of the box. the only problem i had to get over was the price........... but nowi would gladly ?? do it again. time is money as they say and i know this saw will save me a lot of time. i use my equipment full time making furniture and this saw is a pleasure to use. well made in germany,

      Pricey But Well Worth It

This was an expensive tool to buy but is easy to move around, is extremely accurate and versatile. For a 10" saw it has about the same cutting capacity as a 12". It is easy to make adjustments, although I have not needed to do so. Easy to cut dadoes and rabbets by adjusting the depth of cut.

      Kapex is nice

I have a Dewalt sliding compound miter saw that works very well. But the Kapex is nice to use because of the soft start and dust collection and it's quiet. But if that isn't important, use a Dewalt. I also bought the extensions. Now that was a wast of money. Festool should be ashamed of that product.
