    Doctor’s Woodshop Pens Plus Wood Finish is a walnut oil and shellac friction polish combined with microaggregated microcrystal wax – Cosmolloid 80H. The microaggregation process produces wax particles so small that they behave like a liquid. The heat of the friction polishing drives the oil into the wood, sets the shellac, and melts the wax, allowing it to flow over the surface of the wood and produce a high luster shine. This microcrystal wax topcoat has superior light transmission. This all translates into a bright shine and greater water resistance, which makes it a great finish for pens, pepper mills and anything else that will receive incidental water contact and needs a hard durable finish.

    Each year the Parkersburg, West Virginia, Humane Society holds a “Walk Your Paws” fundraising benefit. This year, Woodcraft had the woodworking opportunity to be a small part of this community event with the making of a prosthetic leg for a canine costume contest during the event. Keating, a male boxer mix, belonging to Woodcraft employee Nancy Miller, won a 1st place prize basket of treats with his pirate’s outfit, complete with a handcrafted willow wood pegleg.

      Doctor's Woodshop - Pens Plus

      This is my new go to finish. I used to use the shellac/walnut oil/wax individually applied. This saves a lot of time and gives a very nice final result. Made in USA.

      I just got my bottle of Pens plus. I did 2 coats on a pen and it turned out great. Very easy to use and the shine is Brilliant ! will look into Doctors other Finishes also !

      Great finish

      Easy to apply, dries quick. Not greasy or glossy. Adds beautiful depth to your freshly turned pen stock. This bottle will last easy 100 or more pens at 3-4 coats each.
